The previous’ weeks adventures put a massive dent in our travel schedule. It’s now the latter part of March and by our schedule we should have been around Rockhampton, QLD. But here we were, bound to stay in the vicinity of the hospital and wait for the follow up with the doctors at Gold Coast. Rest assured, I wasn’t a happy camper. Pun intended. But then again, who would be happy with a broken leg?
We moved camp a few times, as the girls were getting profoundly bored in the previous one. We stayed back until I was discharged from the hospital and skedaddled to a nearby, newly built (I was told) and utterly fancy, Big4 Gold Coast in Helensvale.
The girls loved it and we didn’t lag. Awesome water park and swimming pool, friendly staff and lovely amenities. I typically don’t mention those, but these were really something special. They had a huge marine fishtank!!! And there was one in the kitchen too. How’s that for a special touch? Let’s find Nemo! LOL 🐠
Having a leg broken is no picnic but at least we were staying at a good campsite. It allowed us to get our heads around the new lifestyle that involved me sitting down with my leg elevated which means Seb had to pick up all the hats and wear them. Poor bugger. Cooking, cleaning, shopping, washing up and chasing the kids. I bow in respect, he managed to hold the fort down.🦸♂️
Understandably, no time for kiteboarding. The wind died anyway so we were back to the rut. We couldn’t travel either as we still needed to wait for the doctors appointment. Maybe they have some good news and we can move further North, towards great beaches and good winds. We’re listening to the news and this corona virus thing is getting more serious. We hope and pray we’ll get further enough before any lockdowns. Fingers crossed.
