Part Three of our FNQ adventure.
Kite Surfari is one of THE BEST kitesurfing spots – I dare say – in Australia. So, if you’re into kitesurfing in any style, form or level, please read on. And if you’re not, please read on regardless.
The outpost is run by kitesurfers Anthony and Paulie, and have been at it for the past 10years or so. The camp is built out of water tanks, that they’ve transformed into cozy rooms. Ingenuity and style at its finest.
Now to the best part.
During winter months, trade winds blow every day. Every. Day. All. Day! You can expect 25kns on average. You can pump up at 7am and hit the water and stay there until sundown.
The shallow lagoon in front of the camp fills up and offers flat water, but during low tide there is still plenty of spots where you can kite. Heaven on Earth for kitesurfers.
There isn’t much to do for kids per say but our girls still had a great time. We used the low tide times to check for local critters and corals. One can also climb the sand dunes and look for fulgurite – lightning glass – as the dunes are filled with them. And don't forget about the coloured sands just down the beach. We told you about that in one of our previous posts.
