WEEK 17 – CALOUNDRA, TAKE #2

It’s been 62 days since the Queensland C-19 lockdown, but who’s counting. 🤣

Some of the states have already lifted the travel ban and we’re anxiously awaiting when it will happen in QLD. Won’t be long now!

Still in Burpengary at the moment. Seb and I have sort of fell into the rut that gets us across the days of waiting. Wake, coffee, work, breakfast, dress the kids, school, work some more, feed the kids, chase the kids, chastise the kids for doing something stupid, feed them again, read books, watch Netflix, sleep. Repeat. No kite. #sigh

Last week we went to Caloundra, and it ended … well… on an interesting note. The car broke down and we had to get towed back to Wescloud Lodge.

The car is now working again – miraculously – and we decided to have another go at Caloundra. This time to Golden Beach and we were rewarded for it. Caloundra is a lovely place, heaps of playgrounds and the kite spot is amazing.

Seb had a great session, whilst I was looking after the kids. Yes, it grated a bit but my leg’s still on the mend and it might take a while longer before it’s fit enough to be back on the board so I’m taking it as it is. My time will come.

The travel ban is about to be lifted and we got new neighbours at our plot of land. First it was an elderly couple in their new bus-home, and then it was another in a caravan. I’ll be honest, after 2 months of isolation, it felt like someone was parking in my backyard. So funny. 😂🚌🚐

However, with the newcomers, came children and our girls were beside themselves with joy. They locked themselves in the tent and played until dark and even after. Our hearts were all warm and fuzzy. 🥰
