WEEK 12 – BYE BYE BRACE

Catching up with backlog here. It’s been six weeks since my kite accident and the time has come for me to follow up with the doctors about the health of my knee. Seb took me to the hospital and to my utter joy, I was allowed to take off my knee brace. Wahooo!!! 😄

I have been looking forward to this day so much that I made a ceremony out of it. I said goodbye to the brace before taking it off, I thanked it for its service and put it in storage. You never know when it might come in handy again, right?

Anyhoo, I am now well on my way to recovery and we had a glass (or two) of wine to celebrate. Now the long physio part starts.

The additional upside, like we needed more, is that I can now drive the car again! I feel so emancipated.

The following day we went to the beach to soak up some sun. We found a local beach that has easy access and plenty of space for people to spread out. Social distancing thing. Sebastjan and the girls flew the trainer kite, built sandcastles – more like dug in the mud but who cares – and Vanea had a red hot go with SUP. She did fantastic and even Lana jumped on board. Accidental pun on purpose. LOL 😆🤪

The week got even better. The wind picked up and Seb was eager to get out on the water. Who’d blame him? I still can’t kite but that day is not too far away either. We purchased an old second-hand kite, 16m Cabrinha Crossbow, that pulls like a tractor but works well in light winds. We kept to ourselves, Seb went out for an hour or so, our faces were lit with smiles on the way home. 😃x4

What an awesome week it has been! 🤘
