HYDEAWAY & DINGO BEACH – Week #38

We are indeed taking our time. Slowly cruising south we initially thought we’d get to Gold Coast by the end of November but how could we make it in time when there’s so many gorgeous places to see! Therefore, we are now facing a dreadful dilemma – that should/could/would have been addressed earlier but here we are – as to where, where, WHERE are we going to be for Christmas?!! Of course, everything is booked out by now so we’re going to have to get creative.

We stopped at Hydeaway Bay, Nth QLD, which sits just around the corner from the more famous Dingo Beach. The caravan park is near a beach and even has a tiny but convenient grocery store. The nearest shop is in Proserpine, about 40 minutes drive away so if you’re planning to visit you better stock up!

So we did.. drove to Proserpine that is :), filled the boot with groceries (and a few beers) and then took the girls to the swimming pool and splash-park. Loved it! Well worth visiting.

The beach around the corner is lovely, yet we preferred Dingo Beach – 5 minutes away - and we spent our days there. It is absolutely stunning and trust me, no photoshop necessary as it is indeed that shade of blue. We are so lucky!

We made a short video of our adventure at Dingo Beach here : https://youtu.be/7kPmuAq9_jA And don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to our channel and have you seen our website yet? Go check it out! www.windchasers.com.au

The beach has a park with big trees and deep shade, the girls found the playground and alternated between swinging off monkey bars and chasing the crabs around the bay. To make us even happier, the wind decided to pick up and we had a brief kitesurfing session. Bucket list item ticked off.

Off to Halliday Beach next! We hear there’s wallabies on the beach and turtles in the bay!

Hydeaway beach, just around the corner from the caravan park. We saw heaps of turtles in the shallows.

The owners of the caravan park have this beauty in their garage!!!! 😍😍😍 She's a labour of love, as you can tell, and the owners have spent hours on custom making each and every piece of furniture inside. The only sad part is, that they're so busy with the caravan park they seldom have the opportunity to take her out for a spin.

Dingo Beach ... no words necessary. #windchasers #beach #dingobeach #qld #beachqld #australia #travellingaustralia

Low tide reveals the massive flat sandbank and we stood there, soaking up the colours. #windchasers #beach #dingobeach #qld #beachqld #australia #travellingaustralia

During low tide, the sandbank offered a great opportunity to goof around with the trainer kite. Vanea is getting quite good with it. She's doing kiteloops, figure 8s and all sorts of tricks. She can't wait to be old enough to progress onto the big kite. Won't be long kiddo! Short clip of our trainer kite shenanigans. https://youtu.be/7kPmuAq9_jA #windchasers #beach #dingobeach #qld #beachqld #australia #travellingaustralia #kitesurfing #trainerkite

Stunning Dingo Beach. I just love the moment when the tide starts coming in, covering the sandbank with just enough water to get the sky reflected in it. Talk about the blue explosion. Love it! #windchasers #beach #dingobeach #qld #beachqld #australia #travellingaustralia

Can't help ourselves. Low tide and sandbanks are teeming with life and despite appearances, no beach is same as the other. Here we found heaps of cone snail shells but most of them were occupied by hermit crabs. They're a bit shy. #windchasers #beach #dingobeach #qld #beachqld #australia #travellingaustralia #seashell #hermitcrab

The splashpark at Proserpine. Definitely worth a visit. It also has an Olympic sized pool for those who prefer laps. And it's all FREE! How good is that!

After a gorgeous day at Dingo Beach and an unexpected kitesurfing session, we headed out to Cape Gloucester Beach Resort to treat ourselves to dinner. We also got a bonus of watching the sunset whilst sipping cocktails. The perfect ending of a perfect day. 🥰🍹🌅

Cape Gloucester Beach Resort has a restaurant that overlooks the beach so you can enjoy your dinner whilst watching the sunset. Almost kitchy. 🌅
